Established in 1970, Marbury School is a co-operative, alternative/progressive, secular school.

Marbury does not use punishment, nor is it authoritarian. The community of staff and students organises itself in accordance with the rules which have grown up in the school, and operates in accordance with the educational philosophy promulgated by the founding Principal, the late Margaret Langley, AM, BA(Hons), FACE (1920-1998). The day to day running of Marbury School is now in the hands of the College of Staff and Co-Principals Jan Carson and Ian Penny. Marbury is set in an historic garden on 15 hectares in Aldgate, South Australia, about twenty minutes from the centre of Adelaide. Marbury caters for over 100 students of all ages and abilities from reception to year twelve. See our curriculum page for more detail.

The Marbury Vision

A school community in which mutually respectful and supportive relationships provide the basis of a collaborative learning environment that fosters democratic decision making processes and encourages the development of the whole person.
